About Dr. Amini
Dr. Bahaur Amini (she/hers) is a counseling psychologist and postdoctoral fellow with experience providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy to adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds. She specializes in working with issues related to relationships, family, identity, stress, life transitions, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, cultural concerns, and improving one’s well-being.
Dr. Amini’s approach to therapy is grounded in multicultural, strengths-based, psychodynamic, and systemic theories. In her work with clients, she considers the whole person, their past, and their environment. She shapes her approach based on culture, identity, and client goals. Most importantly, she prioritizes providing a safe, accepting, collaborative, and empowering environment for clients as she joins them in their journey towards change. Dr. Amini is passionate about her work and is dedicated to assisting clients identify their challenges and build confidence in their ability to manage the distress in their life while finding healing and growth.
Dr. Amini enjoys seeing adolescents, adults and couples in Beverly Hills, as well as via telehealth across the state of California.
Dr. Amini received her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas and her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from CSU San Bernardino. She’s trained in university counseling centers, community clinics, and in-patient treatment facilities. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Nebraska’s Counseling and Psychological Services clinic, where she specialized in working with students from underrepresented groups.
In addition to working at the Clinic, Dr. Amini serves on the executive board for the American Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African Psychological Association (AMENA-Psy) and is a past recipient of the Dedication to Social Justice and Liberation in Counseling Psychology Award for her sustained leadership and anti-racist advocacy and solidarity with others.
