About Dr. Austin
Dr. Austin is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience. Her clinical focus is in the area of interpersonal dynamics and life transition. Dr. Austin has extensive experience treating couples who may be looking for relationship enhancement, coping with infertility, or experiencing a crisis and in need of intensive therapy. She uses an evidence-based model developed by Dr. John Gottman that has been shown to transform relationships and enhance intimacy.
Dr. Austin works with couples, families, adolescents and adult individuals in Palo Alto and via telemedicine across the State of California. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Austin has worked for over a decade as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Austin completed her pre-doctoral training at California Pacific Medical Center and a post-doctoral fellowship with a focus in sexual issues related to lifespan development. She obtained her doctoral degree from California School of Professional Psychology. She earned her bachelors with honors from Swarthmore College and worked as a student counselor and as a child advocate for the National Center for Youth Law prior to beginning her graduate work.
