About Dr. Choi
Dr. Lisa Choi is a postdoctoral fellow with interests in trauma, sexual health, and couples therapy. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings across Southern California and has experience with a wide range of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship stressors, gender and sexual identity, and race-based stress and trauma, among others. Dr. Choi works from an integrative approach that draws on her training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Humanistic Existential therapy.
Dr. Choi enjoys working with individual adults and couples in San Francisco, as well as via video medicine across the state of California.
Dr. Choi completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California San Diego. Her dissertation explored the phenomena of intergenerational family conflict and related culturally congruent treatments.
