About Dr. Spence

Dr. Megan Spence (She/Her) is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in behavioral medicine. She is certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International and specializes in treating women’s health issues across the lifespan, including reproductive stress, PMDD, perinatal mood disorders, birth trauma, and menopause. She has experience working with men, women, and non-binary people around a wide range of mental and physical health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, work stress, grief, sleep problems, and chronic illness. Her practice is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and prioritizes a multicultural and empowering approach.

In addition to clinical work, Dr. Spence has served on multiple committees, research projects, and presented in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion, women’s health, and the impact of trauma and mental health to organizations including the VA and Kaiser Permanente. She has enjoyed supervising psychology trainees and medical residents across her career.

Dr. Spence enjoys working with adult individuals and couples in Corte Madera and via telemedicine across the State of California.

Dr. Spence did her fellowship training in Women’s Mental Health and Trauma at the San Francisco VA and Zuckerberg San Francisco General’s High-Risk Obstetrics Clinic. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Northport VA on Long Island, New York. She received her masters and doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, and her bachelors degree from U.C. San Diego.
