About Dr. Koenig

Dr. Richard Koenig is a postdoctoral fellow with an interest in trauma related disorders, ADHD, marginalized identities, and identity development. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings throughout California and has experience working with a wide range of presenting concerns, including life transitions, grief, depression, and anxiety among others. His therapeutic approach is both trauma-informed and culturally responsive; he centers psychodynamic, somatic, and relational modalities that are supported with instrumental features of evidence-based approaches including CBT and DBT.

Dr. Koenig enjoys seeing individual adults in Beverly Hills, as well as via video medicine across the state of California. He conducts sessions in English and Spanish.

Dr. Koenig completed his predoctoral internship at UC Santa Cruz CAPS and received his doctoral degree from The Wright Institute. His dissertation explored predicting symptom reduction in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.
