About Dr. Akbari
Dr. Yasmin Akbari is a postdoctoral fellow with interests in trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, and life stressors. She has worked in various clinical settings around the Bay Area and has focused her training in working with individuals with marginalized identities. Dr. Akbari emphasizes the importance of using an individualized, culturally-sensitive approach with each client to create a comfortable and collaborative therapeutic space.
Dr. Akbari enjoys working with adults and young adults and sees patients via telemedicine across California and in person in the Bay Area.
Dr. Akbari completed her predoctoral internship at San Quentin State Prison. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium. Her dissertation explored stigma and perceptions of mental health problems in South Asian populations.
